WATCH: Whoopi warns Clarence Thomas of being deemed ‘quarter of a person’ again

.

In the first episode of The View since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, relegating the issue of abortion to the states, a livid Whoopi Goldberg warned Justice Clarence Thomas that he may be deemed a “quarter of a person” again, likely referencing when slaves were counted as three-fifths of a person when population was measured for taxation and representation calculations.

“You better hope that nobody says, ‘You know, you’re not in the Constitution. You’re back to being a quarter of a person,’” she said.

Goldberg also issued Thomas a warning about his marriage, saying, “You better hope that they don’t come for you, Clarence, and say you should not be married to your wife, who happens to be white.”

“We’re back to the ’50s,” host Joy Behar chimed in.

Speaking on the landmark Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, fellow host Sunny Hostin claimed that “the court is basically saying to welcome — it’s time to welcome all this new life, yet we can shoot them with our newly available, completely unrestricted guns.”

Host Sara Haines added, “This is in no way going to reduce abortions. It’s going to reduce safe abortions.”

She further expressed her anger that legislators did not codify abortion rights when they had the chance.

Goldberg later slammed female governors who “are sitting there talking about, you know, they want to be a voice for the silent,” commanding them to “be a voice for the present. Be a voice for the ones you can also see, and stop saying to people that this is a win for all women, because it’s not.”

The hosts further lamented their claim that precedent no longer matters. “Contraception is on the menu. Gay marriage is probably going to be overturned. Affirmative action is no more,” Hostin said.

“[Clarence Thomas] is saying nothing is precedent anymore,” she added.

“This is an activist Supreme Court, and they should not be deciding the law based on their faith,” Hostin continued.

“Don’t we have separation of church and state?” Behar asked.

“We don’t anymore,” Goldberg said.

Hostin claimed that separation of church and state is granted in the First Amendement, likely in reference to the establishment clause, which disallows the government from mandating a state religion. However, she said Americans “don’t seem to have that anymore.”

Host Ana Navarro told viewers, “If you’re against abortion, don’t have one.”

The hosts later applauded companies that announced financing for abortion travel for employees, including their parent company, Disney.

“I couldn’t be prouder,” Goldberg said.

“These companies have got to do the job of the government,” Behar chimed in.
