Defensive back Sharif Denson commits to Florida over Texas A&M & others

The Florida Gators picked up a big commitment from in-state prospect who has ties to the Gators on Monday.

Defensive back Sharif Denson (5-11, 170, Jacksonville, FL. Bartram Trail) committed to Florida over Florida State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M.

“Committed, this how I’m feeling,” Denson posted on his Instagram. “#GoGators.”

Denson who has visited Gainesville several times as of late is from a family that’s full of Gators as both of his parents went to Florida.

The defensive back also liked how the Gators have recruited his high school and he has a friend on the team.

“The closeness to home for sure,” Denson said on what he likes about Florida. “Just the DBU feel and Vez [Trevez Johnson] is here, we went to Bartram [High School] together. He’s like a big brother to me.”

Denson is the first defensive back commit in the Class of 2023 for the Gators and is the ninth commit in the class that now features eight in-state prospects in the class.
