Ga. activists on fighting stigma, discrimination and living with HIV

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2020, more than 30,000 people were diagnosed with HIV in the United States and dependent areas.

Data also shows that the number of new HIV diagnoses decreased 8% from 2016 to 2019.

Tammy Kinney, an HIV/AIDS activist and the founder of Rural Women in Action, and Jenetter Richburg, the director of client services at AID Atlanta, were guests on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

They talked with show host Rose Scott about National HIV Testing Day, which is this year’s theme is “HIV Testing is self-care.”
