Oklahomans are heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote in the 2022 primary elections.
Polls will be open across the state from 7a.m. to 7p.m.
Oklahoma typically has closed primaries. But for the 2022-2023 election years, the Democratic Party has opened its primaries to registered Independents.
Independent voters wishing to vote on a Democratic ballot should let the election worker know when they check-in.
What do I need?
Every voter who votes in person is required by law to show proof of identity before receiving a ballot.
There are three way to show proof of identity, but only one is required.
1) Show a valid photo ID issued by the federal, state, or tribunal government
2) Show the voter identification card issued by the County Election Board
3) Sign an affidavit and vote a provisional ballot.
Key races
The ballot is divided up by state, congressional, legislative/county/district, and judicial races.
State races
Governor Kevin Stitt is hoping to stay in his seat. He's being challenged by three republicans, Mark Sherwood, Moira McCabe and Joel Kintsel.
On the Democrat ballot for Governor, Joy Hofmeister and Connie Johnson are running.
Moving down the list is the race for State Superintendent.
The position, previously held by Joy Hofmeister, has a few contenders.
Republican candidate Ryan Walters is on the ballot, who has faced some criticism recently over the handling of state dollars supposed to go towards education purposes, allegedly being misused.
Walters is in the running against April Grace, John Cox and William E. Crozier.
Attorney General John O'Connor is being challenged by Gentner Drummond.
Congressional races
There are two U.S. Senate seats up for grabs.
Democrat Kendra Horn will not be on the ballot. She's running without an opponent.
But the republican list is a lot longer, with 13 candidates vying for Sen. Jim Inhofe's seat.
The list includes Randy J Grellner, Alex Gray, Paul Royse, Laura Moreno, Nathan Dahm, Jessica Jean Garrison, Michael Coibion, Luke Holland, Markwayne Mullin, John F. Tompkins, Scott Pruit, T.W. Shannon and Adam Holley.
For the other Senate Race, Democratic candidates Dennis L. Baker, Jason Bollinger, Brandon Wade, Madison Horn, Arya Azma and Jo Glenn are running for Senator James Lankford's seat.
On the Republican side, two candidates, Joan Farr and Jackson Lahmeyer are challenging James Lankford for his seat.
Along with the state and congressional races, there's a list of district and judicial offices on the ballot, which will vary by county.
FOX25 News will have updates on the results as the votes are counted.
