Butte County's Cal Fire division has released their final report on the Monument Fire.
The vegetation fire grew to 5.5 acres in total, and destroyed no structures. It was reported at 3:22 PM and, as of this report, is 100% contained.
Investigators determined the fire was human caused, but whoever started the fire had fled the scene. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the anonymous arson hotline at 1-800-468-4408.
PREVIOUS UPDATE:
Firefighters have stopped forward progress on a vegetation fire near the Monument Hill Boat Ramp at Lake Oroville.
According to Cal Fire, the fire was first reported just after 3:30 p.m in the Monument Hill Road area. Crews say the fire is burning at a slow rate of spread.
Crews are expected to remain on scene for a couple of hours mopping up.
