A Marshall County man was arrested Friday for first-degree domestic violence, according to Sheriff Phil Sims, after his wife was shot in the face.

Deputies responded to a shots fired call on Hall Circle in Guntersville Thursday and found a woman on the front porch of the home. She'd been shot in the face, but she was conscious and alert, Sims said.

Her husband, Jes Paseur, 31, was present at the time of the shooting and was later taken into custody.

The woman was taken to Huntsville Hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Paseur was held on $10,000 bond and has since been released. First-degree domestic violence is a Class A felony.
