The Oklahoma City police have arrested a man they said groped two young girls in a hotel next to a busy downtown festival.The girls said the man was waiting for them in a hotel room at the Omni, just across from Scissortail Park.It’s still not clear how the suspect got into the hotel room because according to officers, they don’t believe he was staying there."He did manage to get into a room, there was a cleaning cart nearby, so the girls assumed he was there cleaning the room, which clearly wasn’t the case," said MSgt Gary Knight, OCPD.The girls walked into the hotel room, only to find the man posing to work there."He indicated he was cleaning, then he went over and sat down on the bed," Knight said.The incident occurred over the weekend at the Omni in downtown Oklahoma City."Pulled her close to him, he groped her, and then she got away from him and that was when she reported it," Knight said.She managed to get away and get help."As it turns out, she has a juvenile sister, who also came into the room around that time, saw him, same story indicated he was there cleaning, she knew something wasn’t right," Knight said.The two were able to get away and when police showed up, the suspect was wandering the halls of the second floor.The Omni Hotel declined to comment but said they’re cooperating with police on an active investigation. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and the suspect was booked in the Oklahoma County Jail on sexual battery charges.
