All Of Lauren Fenmore's Husbands On The Young And The Restless

Tracy E. Bregman originated the role of Lauren Fenmore on "The Young and the Restless" in 1983 and has been portraying the character on "Y&R" and its sister soap "The Bold and the Beautiful" ever since. After nearly 40 years on daytime television, Bregman has been nominated for five Daytime Emmys and won once for her portrayal of Lauren, in addition to other awards. In fact, in 1985 Bregman was the very first actress to be awarded the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series, which confirmed her acting talent and solidified her place in the soap world.

Lauren is a character well-known for her decades-long feud with the legendary villain Sheila Carter, who tried to kill her several times over the years, as well as her relationship with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) whom she has been married to since 2005 — the equivalent of a lifetime in soap years. Still, Lauren experienced plenty of romantic upheaval before her marriage to Michael and has two ex-husbands to show for it. Though, that's still a significantly smaller number of marriages than most of her fellow characters.

Paul Williams, 1984-86

Though Lauren Fenmore was the only child of department store magnate Neil Fenmore and later became a successful businesswoman herself, she spent her younger years singing with rock star Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), according to Soap Central. Despite her rebellious lifestyle, Lauren soon met and fell in love with police detective Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), much to his mother's dismay. The couple married despite Mary Williams' claims that Lauren was too flamboyant for her son.

During her marriage to Paul, Lauren became a victim of a stalker named Shawn Garrett who wanted to be involved in her rise to fame. Shawn's obsession with Lauren caused a significant strain on Paul and Lauren's relationship, which was only heightened when Shawn confronted her with an ultimatum. He threatened to hire a hitman to kill Paul if Lauren didn't get a divorce and move in with him instead (via Soap Opera Digest). Lauren went along with the absurd plan in an effort to save the man she truly loved. Eventually, Shawn fully devolved into psychosis and buried Lauren alive at his own mother's gravesite before Paul showed up to rescue her. During the ordeal, Lauren experienced a miscarriage, though she had never told Paul that she was pregnant.

Lauren and Paul briefly reconciled and thought about remarrying before a hilarious photo debacle stopped that plan in its tracks. Lauren submitted a nude photo of Paul to a magazine contest and it ended up appearing as a centerfold, which Paul was not pleased about. Lauren was forced to try to buy back all the magazines and Paul ultimately decided they would be better off as friends (via Soap Opera Digest).

Dr. Scott Grainger, 1989-91

After the tragic death of her father, Lauren Fenmore found herself falling for a doctor at Genoa City Memorial Hospital, Scott Grainger (Peter Barton). The two were married in 1989 and just a year later Lauren experienced another miscarriage — which was very difficult for actress Tracy E. Bregman to portray since she had just miscarried in real life, according to Soap Opera Digest.

A devastated Scott sought comfort in the arms of Sheila Carter who was a nurse at the hospital and completely obsessed with him. Shortly after, both women discovered they were pregnant by him, though Lauren kept her condition a secret (via Soaps in Depth). Feeling obligated to Sheila and his child, Scott divorced Lauren and married Sheila instead.

This time, it was Sheila who miscarried her baby and, unwilling to give up the life she imagined with Scott, bought a baby on the black market to replace her own (via Soaps). In one of daytime's most iconic baby swaps, Sheila switched the black market baby with Lauren's so she could be the one to raise Scott's biological son, whom she named Scotty Jr. Tragically, the child that Lauren believed was hers died from meningitis shortly after his birth.

Scott Grainger (again), 1992-93

Eventually, Sheila Carter's mother Molly (Marilyn Alex) discovered that Sheila had purchased an infant and switched it with Lauren's baby. Fearing that her mother would tell Lauren the truth, Sheila concocted a plan to kill both women — she trapped them in a cabin and set it on fire (via Soaps). Luckily, both Lauren and Molly survived and Sheila herself was presumed dead. Lauren was then able to take custody of her biological son Scotty Jr. and she and Scott reconciled and were remarried.

Later, Scott was diagnosed with a terminal illness at the same time that Lauren learned that Sheila was actually alive and living in Los Angeles (via Soaps in Depth). She arranged for her and Scott to vacation at the same place as Sheila and her new husband Eric Forrester (John McCook) in an attempt to humiliate the other woman. However, she soon discovered that Scott also knew that Sheila was alive and asked him to warn her old friend Eric about the kind of person Sheila was. Unfortunately, Scott died from his illness before he was able to and his last wish was for Lauren to give Sheila another chance.

Michael Baldwin, 2005-present

Lauren Fenmore left "The Young and the Restless" for several years when her character went to live in Los Angeles and she crossed over to "The Bold and the Beautiful." Lauren officially returned to Genoa City in 2001, and after a brief reconciliation with her first ex-husband Paul Williams, she met her next husband.

A troubled young man named Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) had become obsessed with Lauren and she teamed up with his older half-brother Michael Baldwin to get the teenager psychiatric help (via Soap Opera Digest). Throughout the process, Lauren and Michael fell in love and were married in 2005. A year later the couple had a son together who they named Fenmore "Fen" Baldwin.

Things went well for Lauren and Michael until 2012 when Fen (who had been rapidly aged, then played by Max Ehrich) was accused of pushing a fellow teenager off of a roof and Michael agreed to prosecute his own son (via Soaps in Depth). This put a strain on the couple's marriage and Lauren ultimately had an affair with Carmine Basco (Marco Dapper). Eventually, they learned that Fen was innocent and Lauren and Michael were able to move past her infidelity.

In 2015, it was revealed that Michael had been diagnosed with prostate cancer (via Soap Central). Lauren intended to stay by her husband's side but feeling both stifled by her and jealous of her newfound closeness to Cane Ashby, Michael asked for a divorce. Thankfully, Lauren stayed devoted to Michael and was able to convince him that they should remain married and his cancer went into remission. Since then, Lauren and Michael's relationship has been mostly drama-free — though that can't necessarily be said about other aspects of their lives.
