MCLENNAN, County (FOX 44) – UPDATE: The Office of Governor Greg Abbott has approved the extension of the Order Enacting a Disaster Declaration and Prohibiting the Sale or Use of all Fireworks in McLennan County.
This was announced on Friday morning. The ban will be extended the same length as the current burn ban. You can view the document below for more information.
This comes after the McLennan County Commissioners Court prohibited the sale and use of aerial fireworks, known as “skyrockets with sticks”. McLennan County Judge Scott M. Felton, alongside with the Waco-McLennan County Office of Emergency Management, say they will continue to actively monitor the situation.
