28th Street reopened in north Boulder after semi on fire

Boulder police have reopened southbound 28th Street at Iris Avenue after firefighters were able to extinguish a semi truck fire.

Police tweeted at 4 p.m. Monday asking drivers to avoid the area. The semi and trailer could be seen in witness videos and photos with flames coming engulfing the hood of the vehicle.

The intersection was reopened shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to a tweet from Boulder police.

There were no reports of injuries.
