Kirchner (Witt), Nancy Yvonne

Nancy Yvonne Kirchner (Witt), beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away in her sleep early on Friday June 24, 2022.

After a long, courageous battle with cancer and COPD, she passed with her husband and her faith by her side, just as she wanted.

She fought hard; she had many milestones she wanted to see before the cancer took her. She met all but one. She had wanted to go back to her job at Wal-Mart. he was able to see her favorite holidays, the birth of two new granddaughters, a granddaughter’s First Communion and her 77th birthday. She was able to read her own birthday cards that were sent.

Nancy was born June 23rd, 1945 to Charles and Elizabeth Witt in Omro. She married her husband; Carlton Kirchner April 15, 1978 at St Gabriel’s Church Neenah and had 4 children. They set up their home in Kaukauna. Her faith was very strong. She never missed a mass unless it was due to the birth of a child. The pandemic made it easy for her to still go to church, even from her living room.

She had a very strong work ethic that she tried to pass along to her children. Her jobs reflected her love of people. She loved her co-workers at Photoland. Kobussen Buses held a special place in her heart with her customers, riders and co-workers. She loved her paper-routes through the Kaukauna Times and Post-Crescent. She finally retired from Wal-Mart when her illness forced her to slow down. She was well-known for her kindness, gentle heart and fast, easy smile.

She is survived by her husband Carlton, children Marie (Joe) Vandenberg, Roberta (Adam) Schubring, Ted (Melissa) Kirchner, Matt (Olivia) Kirchner, and her grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Dominic, Savannah, Gabriel, Charlotte, Elijah, Lilly, Declan, William, Violet, Sienna, and Rosalee, brother Chuck (Deb) Witt, sister Jeanne Curtis, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant child, her parents, Carlton’s parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother Kevin Witt, sister Barb Callaway, infant niece and an infant grandson, Blake and numerous other family and friends.

We want to thank ThedaCare Hospice, ThedaCare at Home and the Hopes and Dreams program. We want to say a special thank you to Amber, Ida, Dawn, Stuart and Christopher for their assistance through this difficult journey. They truly made this easier for our mom over the past 11 months.

Richmond St. Appleton and again on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 9:30am-10:45am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church; 1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton with the service to begin at 11am.
