THE VICTIMS SHOT AND KILLED SUNDAY. DETECTIVES BACK AT THE SCENE IN NORTHEAST BALTIMORE SEARCHING FOR MORE EVIDENCE AND TRYING TO FIND THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRIPLE SHOOTING AT FRANKFURT AVENUE AND SINCLAIR LANE A WITNESS. WE ARE NOT IDENTIFYING DESCRIBES WHAT HAPPENED. I MADE A PURCHASE AND GUNSHOTS WOULD BE IN FIRED OUT FRONT. AND I RAN FOR COVER BY THE ATM MACHINE. SHE SAYS THE VICTIMS MOVED TOWARDS THE HUB SPORTS BAR AND GRILL AND THE GUYS RAN IN THE STORE AND THE PEOPLE FOLLOWED AND THAT’S WHEN EVERYTHING HAPPENED. I HAD TO STEP OVER WITH DEAD BODIES OFFICERS LOCATED THE BODY OF ONE OF THE VICTIMS INSIDE THE BAR. THE OTHER MALE DIED AT A HOSPITAL A 28 YEAR OLD WOMAN SURVIVED POLICE ALSO SAY OFFICERS WERE ON PATROL NEARBY AND REPORTED THE SHOTS THERE WERE MULTIPLE SHOOTERS. WHO WHO WERE SHOOTING BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CONVENIENCE STORE ARE VERY BRAZEN ATTACK WITH OFFICERS. I WOULD SAY ABOUT 150 FEET. AWAY INVESTIGATORS FOUND MULTIPLE SHELL CASINGS IN THE STREET AND ON THE PARKING LOT. THEY ALSO HAD A HONDA ACCORD TOWED AWAY FROM THE SCENE AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION POLICE. TELL US SO FAR THIS YEAR 176 HOMICIDES HAVE OCCURRED IN BALTIMORE AS COMPARED TO 162 THE SAME TIME LAST YEAR AND 350 NON-FATAL SHOOTINGS AS COMPARED TO 334 AND 2021. MAYOR BRANDON SCOTT AGAIN, VOICING CONCERN OVER THE PREVALENCE OF ILLEGAL GUNS CONSEQUENCES. USING THEM AND SOME OF THE MOTIVES BEHIND THE VIOLENCE WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE NOW DYING OVER INSTAGRAM THESE DYING OVER THINGS BECAUSE THEIR GIRLFRIEND LEFT THEM OR THEIR BOYFRIEND LEFT THEM DYING OVER SOME SMALL SMALL MINOR DISPUTE. THAT IS SOMETHING SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT THAN WE SAW IN THE 90S AND IN 2000S WHERE SO MUCH OF IT WAS CONNECTED TO WHERE WE WERE CALLED GANGS AND DRUGS. POLICE ALSO TELL US THEY ARE INVESTIGATING 24 ROBBERIES AND OVER THE WEEKEND. THEY MADE A REST IN A MURDER TO ATTEMPTED MURDERS AND A CARJACKING. REPORTING LIVE FROM DOWNTOW

More than a dozen weekend shooting incidents are now under investigation in Baltimore, including three homicides. Baltimore police Commissioner Michael Harrison on Monday talked about the weekend crime.Two people were shot and killed Sunday in a triple shooting in northeast Baltimore. Detectives were back at the scene Monday at Frankford Avenue and Sinclair Lane, searching for more evidence and trying to find the people responsible for the shooting. A witness who did not want to be identified described what happened."I made a purchase and gunshots were being fired out front and I ran for cover by the ATM machine," the witness said.The witness said the victims moved towards the Hub Sports Bar and Grill."And the guys ran into the store and the people followed and that's when everything happened. I had to step over dead bodies," the witness said.Police said officers located the body of one of the victims inside the bar. The other male died at a hospital. A 28-year-old woman survived.Harrison said officers were on patrol nearby and reported the shots. "There were multiple shooters who were shooting inside and outside the convenience store. A brazen attack with officers about 150 feet away," Harrison said.Investigators found multiple shell casings in the street and in the parking lot. They also had a Honda Accord towed from the scene as part of the investigation.Police said so far this year, 176 homicides have occurred in Baltimore as compared to 162 in the same time in 2021. There are 350 nonfatal shootings as compared to 334 in 2021.Of the nonfatal shootings, 18 of them happened this past weekend. Harrison said while his department is relying on a number of strategies to deter crime, just having a police presence isn't enough. "Especially when you see them doing it right there, that's not a deployment issue. It's actually the decisions of people who have no regard for their own life or any of the lives of anyone else or any authority figure," Harrison said.Mayor Brandon Scott again voicing concern over the prevalence of illegal guns consequences for using them and some of the motives behind the violence."When you see people now, dying over Instagram beef, dying over things because they're girlfriend left them or they're boyfriend left them, dying over some small-minded dispute – that is something significantly different than what we saw in the 90s and 2000s, where so much of it was connected to what we would call gangs and drugs," Scott said.Police said they are also investigating 24 robberies. Over the weekend, they made arrests in a murder, two attempted murders and a carjacking. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-396-2433 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
