1-year-old boy in stable condition after drive-by shooting in Mt. Morris Township

MT. MORRIS TWP., MI – A 1-year-old boy and a 42-year-old man are both in stable condition after being shot early Monday morning, police said.

Officers were dispatched around 1:40 a.m. Monday, June 27, to the 5400 block of Clubok Drive for a drive-by shooting, according to a Mt. Morris Township Police Department news release.

Police said the child had been shot in the lower right leg. The child’s father was shot three times – twice in the chest and once in the hip.

Both victims are in stable condition, police said.

Authorities said there are three suspects in the shooting, but no arrests have been made. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the street in front of the home.

Mt. Morris Township police were assisted on scene by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police.

The investigation is still ongoing.
