Johnson Estate Winery has a beautiful outdoor location featuring picnic tables and umbrellas called FLIGHT that’s adjacent to the winery. Plus, there’s a special bar tent set up outside for wine tastings this summer.
It’s named FLIGHT for two reasons. Firstly because you can order flights of wine here, but also because the founder of the winery was a pilot during World War II and third-generation winery owner, Fred Johnson, is also a pilot.
FLIGHT’s menu features wine flights as seasonally-curated cheese and charcuterie boards and desserts. Each flight consists of three different samples of their wines. Discover the “perfect pairings” where 1+1=3!

Their seasonally-curated cheese and charcuterie boards feature a selection of dry-cured meats, seafood, cheese, locally-grown fresh fruit and vegetables, dried fruit, nuts and olives, sliced baguettes, and crisps that best complement the flight of wines chosen.
Flight of Red Wines
The flight includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Founders’ Red, and Dry Ruby Rosé.
Flight of White Wines
The flight includes Bright Steel Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, and Semi-Dry Riesling.
Flight of Sparkling Wines
The flight includes Brut, Sparkling Traminette, and The Queen’s Catawba
Flight of Sweet Wines
This flight includes Concord, Liebeströpfchen, and Pink Catawba.
If you’re bringing your kids with you, they have grape juice, nuts, and cheese available for them.
FLIGHT is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays from now through Columbus Day weekend, weather permitting.
