Sen. McConnell in Northern Ky., speaks for first time since Roe V. Wade overturned

FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - Kentucky senator and minority leader Mitch McConnell spoke publicly for the first time since the Supreme Court's decision on Friday.

At the Rotary Club of Florence, he spoke about the court's controversial decision on abortion.

"What the court did, in effect, was return this very controversial issue to the people and their representatives so that it could be decided by the democratic process," said McConnell.
He noted that neither side has had the 60 votes needed to pass anything significant in Congress. This will push it back to the states.

Sen. McConnell did address other recent decisions by the high court, as well as topics including the Brent Spence Bridge, inflation, divided government and arming teachers.
