BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Warner Robins man was killed after his car ran off the road into a construction zone, police say.

The accident happened on Monday just after 7:50 a.m. at the westbound I-16 and southbound I-75 split in Macon.
According to The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the car ran off the road, then hit a light pole.

The light pole was knocked over and the car rolled over inside the construction zone under the highway.

The coroner identified the driver as Richard Dudley, 58, of Warner Robins. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
