NEW YORK — The ankle injury that forced Gleyber Torres out of Sunday night’s win over the Astros turned out to be OK. But Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed a different injury that forced Torres to need medical attention.

Torres received a cortisone shot to treat inflammation in his right wrist.

“That will probably knock him out (Monday) and (Tuesday) swinging-a-bat-wise,” Boone told reporters before Monday’s game against the A’s at Yankee Stadium. “He’s fine.”

The second baseman has been dealing with soreness in the wrist for at least a couple weeks, and he’s played with tape on it.

“Just been kind of lingering,” Boone said. “Nothing that’s kept him out of the lineup obviously. But I think with him rolling the ankle (Sunday) night, it was like, let’s get an image and see if we can knock this out. I don’t expect it to be anything that lingers too much.”

DJ LeMahieu was slated to start at second base in place of Torres on Monday.

Here are a couple other Yankees injury updates, via Boone:

Isiah Kiner-Falefa, SS

Injury: Bruised finger

The latest: Kiner-Falefa was left out of the lineup Monday after he was hit on the finger successfully sacrifice bunting with two strikes in the 10th inning Sunday. Kiner-Falefa was thrown out at first base and then he immediately rushed into the Yankees’ clubhouse. He wasn’t on the field to celebrate when Aaron Judge crushed a walk-off three-run homer later in the frame. Kiner-Falefa told reporters that he was fine and that an X-ray didn’t show any structural damage in his right pointer finger. “It’s essentially like a bruised nail,” Boone said. “But he threw (Sunday) a little bit and even (Monday) and just kind of a day-to-day thing. He’s fine.”

Aroldis Chapman, LHP

Injury: Left Achilles tendinitis

The latest: Chapman will make one more minor-league rehabilitation appearance Tuesday at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees will likely activate him after. He’s made two appearances with Double-A Somerset. He’s been on the injured list since May 24. “He threw eight pitches his first outing and then 11 (Sunday),” Boone said. “He was good. I talked to him a little bit in there. He feels good, feels fine. Feels like it’s best to get one more in him.”
