LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The intersection of 56th Street and Old Cheney Road in Lincoln is now open.

The intersection was reopened around 1 p.m. on Monday after a stormwater pipe maintenance project was completed.  It had been closed since June 20.

“Thanks to the hard work of LTU’s Transportation and Utilities teammates and partners, we were able to maintain the public’s safety and open the intersection a day ahead of schedule,” said Zach Becker, project manager at the Lincoln Transporation and Utilities Department. “We appreciate the tremendous effort by all those involved to help get these emergency repairs completed at this major intersection in a short time.”
