Saralee “Lee” Benedict Johnson, age 75, of Dillard, journeyed to be with the Lord, on June 16, 2022. She was born the daughter to the late Robert Benedict and the late Louise Ellen Kellog Benedict on Jan. 2, 1947. In her professional life, she worked for herself as an artist and jeweler.

Lee was a Christian, Presbyterian and a member of the Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church. She was an avid metal worker, who worked in copper, silver and gold making jewelry and sculptures. She was also a very accomplished and talented painter. She was a graduate of the University of Oregon with a Masters in psychology. Lee was a manager of training at Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., and operated the Lee Johnson Gallery on Main Street in Clayton.

Her parents preceded her in death. Her survivors include her loving husband, William “Bill” Johnson, of the home; one brother, Robert Benedict (Susan), of Redmond, Ore.; as well as various nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
