Emergency responders spent about two hours at a North Logan site Monday afternoon after a FedEx semi truck reported a hazardous material leak.

Fire trucks and a hazmat crew responded to the scene at 3000 North and 300 West after learning a highly flammable material aboard the truck was leaking into a gutter and storm drain.

The material was identified as type F organic peroxide, which is flammable at high temperature. Emergency scanner traffic indicated the truck was carrying around 3,300 pounds of the material, but only one or two gallons reportedly leaked.

An evacuation of the area was discussed with 911 dispatchers, but after about two hours on the scene, a responder reported a FedEx crew had arrived to clean-up the spill and completion of the job was left to them.
