New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1400 block of Iberville Street.
"At about 9;26 p.m., NOPD received a call of shots fired in the area that was soon after increased to an aggravated battery by shooting," NOPD said in a news statement. "Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim on scene and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds"
EMS took the victim to University Hospital this morning after the shooting. She was later pronounced dead.
