American Legion Baseball teams across the Cowboy State have reached the 13th week of the 2022 season.

This means the season also is playing into its fourth month, July.

Cheyenne is hosting seven out-of-state teams for their annual Firecracker tournament, while three teams are in Billings, Montana. Others are heading to tournaments in Idaho, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Utah.

MONDAY, JUNE 27:

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 6 Sheridan Troopers 0 (conference game) - Sixers got a 3-hit shutout from Feezer on the mound. Hastings had 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 10 Sheridan 1 (conference game) - Sixers get the sweep on the road. McAnelly allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 6 inns. with 12 Ks. He had 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs at the plate. Hastings added 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Douglas 9 Wheatland 7 (conference game) - a 4-run 2nd inning put the Cats in front, and they held off a Lobos comeback attempt. Russell had 3 hits (HR, 2-2B) and 3 RBIs for Douglas. Spence added 1 hit & 3 RBIs. Goodrich homered and double with 1 RBI for Wheatland.

Final Score: Wheatland 5 Douglas 2 (conference game) - Lobos got out to a 3-0 lead and held on. Suko had 3 hits to pace the Wheatland attack, while Hicks added 2 hits & 1 RBI.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 20 Buffalo 0 - Bulls allowed 2 runs or more in all five innings.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 20 Buffalo 5 - It was 6-2 before Lewistown scored the next 14 runs.

TUESDAY, JUNE 28:

Final Score: Jackson 6 Casper Oilers 1 (conference game) - Giants took control with a 4-run 2nd inning. Kostial had 2 solo home runs. A. Gralund added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Huggins went 6 inns for the win and allowed 1 run on 5 hits.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 15 Jackson 2 (conference game) - Oilers scored 7 runs over the first 3 innings and gained the split. Wilcox had 3 hits (2-2B, 3B) & 3 RBIs. Locklin added 3 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 8 Lewistown, MT 4 - Drillers scored all their runs in the first 3 frames. Smith had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. DePoorter added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 20 Casper Drillers 4 - Redbirds had a 9-run 4th that propelled them to the split.

Final Score: Green River 8 Rawlins 2 (conference game) - Knights trailed 2-1 but rallied with 6 runs over the last 3 innings. Smith had 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Green River 14 Rawlins 4 (conference game) - It was 6-4 GR after the first, and the Knights scored the last 10 runs of the game. Peterson had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Molina added 3 hits.

Final Score: Powell B 22 Buffalo 13 - Pioneers B jumped out to a 15-4 lead. Solberg had 2 hits & 4 RBIs. Diaz added 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Powell B 14 Buffalo 7 - Pioneers B team got the sweep. It was 8-2 when the Bulls closed within 8-7, but Powell B scored the last 6 runs. Diaz had 3 hits (2-2B) & 4 RBIs. Fazen added 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Gonzalez had 4 hits & 2 RBIs for Buffalo in defeat.

Final Score: Cody 11 Powell 6 (conference game) - Cubs got out to a 10-0 lead. Phillips had 3 hits & 4 RBIs. Both Schroeder's hit home runs for Cody. Stenerson homered for Powell.

Final Score: Cody 5 Powell 2 (conference game) - The Cubs' 3-run 2nd was the difference. T. Schroeder had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie 11 Rock Springs 3 (conference game) - The Rangers led 5-0 in the first 2 innings. Chavez had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Chavez & Jenkin hit home runs.

Final Score: Laramie 13 Rock Springs 2 (conference game) - Laramie got out to a 7-0 lead in the first 2 frames and put it away in the 5th. Dodd allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. Moore hit a home run. He and Jenkin had 2 hits & 3 RBIs apiece.

Final Score: Lovell 8 Sheridan Jets 5 (8 inns.)- Mustangs scored 4 runs in the 7th to tie and force extra innings. Lovell won it on Christiansen's walk-off 3-run HR.

Final Score: Lovell 7 Sheridan Jets 6 - Mustangs led 7-0 after 3 innings. Jets closed within 1 with a 6-run 5th, but Lovell holds on. Rodriguez had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. W. Greer had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Jets.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29:

Final Score: Laramie 13 Evanston 2 (conference game) - the Rangers led 9-0 in the first inning. Buus had 2 hits & 3 RBIs, while Dodd & Ruckman added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie 8 Evanston 1 (conference game) - the Rangers scored 4 in the first and never trailed. Branch got the win on the mound and allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 7 Ks and 2 walks. Jenkin paced the offense with 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Drillers 15 Cody 14 - Drillers hold off a Cubs rally. Casper built a 15-5 lead before Cody rallied within 1. Both teams had 10 hits and 4 errors. Smith led the Drillers with 4 hits (2B) & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody 12 Casper Drillers 0 - Cubs led 6-0 and added 6 in the 4th inning. T. Schroeder tossed a 7-hit shutout on the mound and had 2 hits & 2 RBIs at the plate.

Final Score: Douglas 13 Gordon/Rushville, NE 12 (8 inns.) - Cats win the opener on an error in the 8th. They scored 4 in the bottom of the 7th to force an extra inning. Cathcart & Russell hit home runs. Cathcart had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Douglas 11 Gordon/Rushville, NE 5 - The Cats led 4-0 early and answered every Regulators push. Ortega had 2 hits (2B, HR) & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Torrington 12 Wheatland 2 (conference game) - Tigers scored 6 in the 1st and added 6 in the 3rd. Desmond & Hager had 2 hits & 3 RBIs each as part of a 13-hit attack.

Final Score: Wheatland 10 Torrington 3 (conference game) - Lobos gain the split. Wheatland scored 3 in the 2nd and 5 more runs in the 3rd to take control. Hicks had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Preuit added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. He also got the win on the mound.

THURSDAY, JUNE 30:

Final Score: Riverton 21 Green River 6 (conference game) - Raiders jumped out to a 12-0 lead and sealed it with 9 in the 4th. Anderson had 3 doubles & 6 RBIs. DeVries added a double and 1 HR with 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Riverton 14 Green River 8 (conference game) - Raiders took control with 7 runs in the 2nd inning. Hauck had 3 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs. Peterson hit 2 HRs & doubled as part of 4 hits & 4 RBIs for the Knights.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 12 Douglas 7 - Redbirds took the lead with 4 in the 4th. Kejr had 2 hits (HR) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Lewistown, MT 15 Douglas 9 - Redbirds rally in the last 2 innings. Selk with 3 hits & 2 RBIs in the loss for the Cats.

Final Score: Powell 5 Sheridan Jets 3 - Pioneers got out to a 4-0 lead and held on. Wantulok had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Stenerson added 3 hits.

Final Score: Powell 9 Sheridan Jets 7 - a 4-run 6th put the Pioneers in control, but they had to hold off a rally by the Jets. Johnson had 4 hits & 1 RBI for Powell.

Cheyenne Post 6 Firecracker Tourney

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 2 Hastings, NE 0 - Tafoya's 2-run single in the 3rd helps the Sixers start their tournament with a victory. Rodriguez threw a 6-hit shutout.

Goldsmith Gallery Tournament in Billings, MT

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 14 Billings (MT) Royals 5 - Troopers scored the first 6 runs of the game. Greer with 3 hits & 4 RBIs. Stowe added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 7 Northside Dirt Devils (Loveland, CO) 1 - Sheridan got out to a 5-0 lead & never trailed. Greer & Stowe with 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score: Gillette 4 Bloomington, MN Blue 3 - Riders led 4-0 and held off Bloomington's rally in the 7th. Fink & Drube hit HRs.

Final Score: West Fargo, ND 2 Gillette 0 - Riders limited to 1 hit.

FRIDAY, JULY 1:

Final Score: Torrington 14 Buffalo 4 - Tigers scored 5 in the 1st and never trailed. Short had 2 hits & 3 RBIs. Hager and Desmond added 2 hits & 2 RBIs apiece.

Final Score: Torrington 16 Buffalo 4 - Tigers complete the sweep on the road. They scored 11 runs in the first 2 innings. Hackbarth had 3 hits (all doubles) & 3 RBIs. Short added 2 hits (3B) & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 6 Lewistown, MT 5 - Jets scored 4 in the 6th to rally for the game 1 win. Brown with 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Sheridan.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 8 Lewistown, MT 3 - Jets got out to a 5-0 lead and held off a comeback. Barney had 2 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs. Murner had 2 doubles & drove in 1 run.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 18 Jackson 3 - Troopers break the game open with 9 runs in the 3rd. Greer had 3 hits (2-2B) & 3 RBIs. Stowe, C. Steel, & Hamrick with 2 hits each. Sheridan took advantage of 7 errors by Jackson.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 4 406 Flyers (MT) 4 (tie) - in pool play

Final Score: Billings (MT) Scarlets 3 Casper Oilers 2 - 1 run in the 2nd was the difference for the Scarlets. Mogen had 1 hit & 2 RBIs in the loss.

Final Score: Gillette 12 Sioux Falls (SD) Post 15 1 - Riders scored 4 in the 1st and never trailed. Drube had 2 hits (2B) & 2 RBIs. Took advantage of 7 walks & 4 errors.

Final Score: Moorhead, MN 5 Gillette 3 - 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th was the difference.

Rocky Mountain School of Baseball Firecracker Tournament in Utah

Final Score: Rawlins (UT) Tigers 18U Orange 8 Evanston 7 (in Orem, UT) - Outlaws had a 5-2 lead but couldn't hold on. Osborn had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: RA (UT) 2023 Black 17U 13 Evanston 3 (in Orem, UT) - RA Black had a 4-run 1st that was too much to overcome.

Upper Valley ALB A Tournament in Idaho

Final Score: Idaho Falls (ID) Tigers 18U 18 Rock Springs 5 - a 9-run 6th capped it for the Tigers. Hunt had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for the Stallions in defeat.

Final Score: Marsh Valley, ID 10 Rock Springs 2 - an early 6-0 deficit was too much to overcome.

SATURDAY, JULY 2:

Final Score: Green River 8 Riverton 6 (conference game) - Knights took a 2-1 lead in the 1st. GR scored the next 5 runs for a 7-1 advantage. Riverton scored 4 in the 7th to make it close. Paoli hat a double & 3 RBIs. Smith and Peterson with 2 hits apiece. Reinig & Hutchison hit home runs in the loss.

Final Score: Riverton 17 Green River 7 (conference game) - Raiders pull away with 13 runs in the last 3 innings to gain a split on the road. Hauck had a grand slam, a triple & 7 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Jets 12 Lovell 7 - Jets scored 7 in the 6th to pull out the victory. Waugh & Reisen had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Hutton 1 hit & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 10 Northside Dirt Devils (Loveland, CO) 2 - 4 runs in the 3rd & 2 more in the 4th helped the Oilers to the win. Locklin had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Taggart & Stokes added 3 hits & 1 RBI. Tharp allowed 2 runs on 7 hits.

Final Score: Billings (MT) Scarlets 8 Jackson 2 - Scarlets scored 4 in the 2nd and never trailed. The Giants had more hits, 9-7, but also had 4 errors in the loss.

Final Score: Powell B 15 Buffalo 12 - Pioneers JV utilized 9 hits & 10 walks in the win. A 5-run 6th was the difference.

Final Score: Buffalo 8 Powell B 5 - Bulls get the split with a win in Game 2. The game was tied at 5-5 when Buffalo scored 3 in the 7th. Camino's double put the Bulls in front for good. He had 3 hits (2-2B, 3B) & 3 RBIs in the game.

Cheyenne Post 6 Firecracker Tourney

Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 4 Rocky Mountain Oysters (Colo) 3 [Semifinal] - Costopoulos had the GW, walk-off RBI single in the 7th. Sixers trailed 3-1 and rallied for the win. Costopoulos, Hastings, & Lopez all had 2 hits apiece.

Final Score: Slammers Duman 17U (Denver, CO) 7 Cheyenne Sixers 3 [Championship Game] - It was 3-3 in the 6th when the Slammers scored 3 to take the lead. Tafoya had 4 hits & McAnelly 3 hits (2B) to account for Cheyenne's 7 hits. The Sixers had 5 errors on defense.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 7 Rogue Baseball (CO) 3 [Semifinals] - Oilers reach the tournament title game. It was 3-3 in the 5th when Casper scored 2 to regain the lead and added 2 insurance runs in the 6th. Wilcox had 3 hits, 2 RBIs, & 2 SB. The Oilers overcame 5 errors defensively.

Final Score: Billings (MT) Royals 9 Casper Oilers 7 [Championship Game] - a 7-run 6th was the turning point for the Royals. Nipper had 2 hits in the loss.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 10 406 Flyers (Billings, MT) 0 - Troopers win a consolation game behind Mortensen's shutout. Greer & Hamrick with 2 hits apiece. Greer hit .710 for the tournament.

Final Score: Jackson 10 Northside Dirt Devils (Loveland, CO) 8 - the Giants outlast the Dirt Devils for a consolation victory. Jackson trailed 7-3 but scored the next 7 runs over 3 innings. Garner had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Kostial & Hammond drove in 3 runs apiece.

Scottsbluff Screen Printing Wood Bat Tournament in Scottsbluff, NE

Final Score: Alliance, NE 9 Wheatland 1 - Spartans scored 3 in the 1st and never trailed. Hicks had 3 hits (2B) & 1 RBI for the Lobos.

Final Score: Wheatland 13 Buckley (CO-NE) Bombers 9 - the Lobos took the lead with 8 runs in the top of the 7th and held on. They were trailing 8-5. Preuit had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Goodrich added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Anderson drove in 3 runs. Wheatland overcame 7 errors on defense.
