Mount Solon lightning strike injures two, one man hospitalized

MOUNT SOLON — Augusta County Fire-Rescue said two men were injured in a lightning strike Sunday afternoon during a thunderstorm in Mount Solon.

Deputy Chief Bryan Mace said the lightning strike took place at about 1:45 p.m. at the Stokesville Campground on Stokesville Road.

One man was hospitalized at the Sentara RMH Medial Center in Harrisonburg. Mace said he did not know the unidentified man's condition.

A second man at the scene declined a medical transport, Mace said.
