Kiski Township police said they were called to an Aspen Drive home back on April 11, 2022. Police said first responders determined the child had suffered serious injuries and was flown to Children's Hospital for treatment.
Jacob Rupert, 23, of Saxonburg, was taking care of the child, according to police. The 11-month-old was found to be suffering from broken vertebrae in her neck, abrasions to her face along with retinal hemorrhaging and an occipital fracture.
Police did not reveal Rupert's relationship to the child or why she was in his care. The child's condition as of Monday was not released.
Rupert was arraigned and given a $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.
