CADILLAC, MI – A northern Michigan church was reduced to charred studs, metal doors and broken glass in a devastating fire that engulfed the building over the weekend.
While the building that housed the Revival Center Church near Cadillac is gone, the church is not, said Pastor Will Markham.
“The building is not the church,” he said in a video posted to Facebook. “The building is a building. And the church? The church is alive and well.”
The building went up in flames Friday night or early Saturday and is a total loss, WPBN/WGTU reports. The cause of the blaze is unknown; the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
The church held services outdoors on Sunday using donated chairs, sound systems and other equipment, the report said. The church also plans to continue its weekly events, including a food pantry on Wednesday.
Donations can be made online here. Give via text with TEXT-TO-GIVE at 810.202.0605 by typing the donation amount and the word “building,” i.e. “100 building.” Checks can be mailed to Revival Center Church, P.O. BOX 667, Cadillac, MI 49601.
