Millions of Californians may be eligible to receive an 'Inflation Relief' rebate payment.

Valley residents, like many Californians are looking for relief.

"It's not only gas prices. You look, and inflation is going up everyday. I think something major has got to be done," says Alibaba Farzaneh, who was pumping gas in Palm Desert.

One solution recently offered by California lawmakers includes an 'Inflation Relief' package.

Tax paying Californians could be issued rebate payments ranging from $200 to $1050 depending on their income and whether or not they have any dependents.

According to Cal Matter the rebate program falls under these three tiers.

Individuals making up to $75,000 or joint filers making $150,000 would receive $350 per taxpayer. An additional $350 would be added if the household or individual has at least one dependent.

People making up to $125,000 or joint filers making $250,000 would receive $250 per taxpayer.

Lastly individuals making $250,000 or joint filers making $500,000 would receive $200 per taxpayer.

The last two tiers would receive between $200-250 if they have at least one dependent.

In addition to the rebate, the package also calls for a suspension of the state's sales tax on diesel. It does not provide relief from the upcoming gasoline tax, which starts Friday.

It also includes money to help people pay rent and utility bills.

The outlined package totals $17 billion, and is intended to provide relief for overall inflation relating to gas prices and other living expenses.

The 'Inflation Relief' rebate is part of the $300 billion budget that's still under negotiation.
