March for Children to honor late Albany child murder victim Nigel Brown
ALBANY, GA – #TEAMNigel is proud to join with other organizations to raise awareness for #JusticeforNigel and the need for measures to be put in place to keep children safe in Albany, Georgia. The March for our Children: Honoring Nigel Brown, will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 9:00 am. This will be the first birthday of Nigel Brown since his passing in October 2021.
#TEAMNigel is a group of concerned citizens who came together immediately after the murder of Nigel Brown, a 9 year old that was killed while sleeping in his bed from a stray bullet. This group now works together to raise awareness about gun violence by hosting events in the community and supporting families who were victims of gun violence.
The family of Nigel Brown, led by his mother, Yolander Brown, has been working diligently to keep her son’s memory alive. The have been cooperating with law enforcement, however to date, Nigel’s killer has not been found. There has been no justice for the family. Ms. Brown recently met with the Albany Police Department to ask that her son’s case be elevated to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) so that more support can be given to find Nigel’s killer.
