MONROE, Ore. -- A man is in custody after a drunk driving incident on Sunday, June 27 that hit six cars and damaged four of them severely enough to require towing, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office says.

According to the BCSO, the incident occurred on Irish Bend Road in Monroe. Scott K Brooks, 34, of Junction City, allegedly hit six cars in a pickup truck. Deputies said there were children in his vehicle at the time. Officials said a deputy responded at about 6:30 p.m., arrested Brooks and took him to the Junction City Police Department for tests.

Officials say that four of the six cars that were hit had to be towed due to the damage they sustained. Deputies report that Brooks was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, six counts of criminal mischief, and three counts of reckless endangering due to the kids in the vehicle.
