It hasn’t been a smooth ride for the Detroit Tigers, but Miguel Cabrera continues to add to his already impressive resume.
Earlier this season, Cabrera picked up hit No. 3,000 and became the only active player besides Albert Pujols to have reached that mark.
But who said he was done after 3,000?
Miggy knows how to set big goals and follow through on them.
The Tigers had a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks over the weekend.
Detroit took two out of three, but the big story of the series took place on Sunday, when Cabrera picked up hit No. 3,054, which moved him past Rod Carew on the all-time hits list.
The Tigers tweeted a video of the hit and commented that Cabrera now stands alone in 27th place on the all-time hits list.
Miggy Does It Again
Cabrera still has it in him.
He’s one of the most dominant players in the history of Major League Baseball and knows what it takes to be successful.
He’s locked in day in and day out, ready to pounce on a pitcher’s mistakes.
But even in his advanced age, he isn’t done making history as he passed yet another legend on Sunday.
The hits just keep coming for Miggy.
The 39-year-old slugger is hitting .296 this season with three home runs and 23 RBI while posting a respectable .702 OPS.
He continues to match some of the greats in the history of the game and ultimately pass them.
More are sure to follow for Cabrera with the way he’s been hitting this year and throughout his storied major league career.
He passed Carew on Sunday and is far from through, even in the latter stages of his legendary career.
