Man accused of threatening to murder ex-girlfriend, set body on fire arrested

LUBBOCK, Texas (KVII) —
Authorities say a man who allegedly tied up his ex-girlfriend and threatened to set her dead body on fire is now behind bars.

Monday morning, Clovis police said 29-year-old Kelvin Jonatan Najera Sevilla was arrested in Lubbock on Saturday on those crimes.
According to the victim, Sevilla tied her up after an argument.
Sevilla then reportedly held her at gunpoint, tried to suffocate her and threatened to dump her body into her car and light it on fire.
Officers freed the victim after being called to a nearby Allsups and entering a home on Ross Street in Clovis.
Police later searched the suspect's home, which they said had evidence that corroborated the victim's story.
