Mystery as couple found shot dead at home with their three children still in the house
A HUSBAND and wife were found shot and killed in their own home while their children remained alive inside.
Eric Huard, 51, and Courtney Huard, 42, were killed in what investigators believe was not a random act of violence.
Around 6.40am on the morning of June 22nd, police were called to the Cumberland, Rhode Island, home on Birchwood Drive with reports of a couple suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both Courtney and Eric were pronounced dead at the scene.
The couple had three children, who were all inside of the home at the time of their parent's death.
All three children were not injured in the attack.

While investigators have not given the public further details on the attack or its investigation, police say they're certain this was an isolated incident.
"Something I wouldn't think would happen," Robert Boynes, the couple's neighbor, told NBC10.
"There's only 12 hours on this street. It's a quiet neighborhood. Never, never in 50 years [I lived here] an incident on this street."
Both the Rhode Island Police and the state attorney general are investigating the incident.
"As was announced yesterday, the preliminary investigation indicates that this is an isolated incident," Police Chief Matthew Benson said in a statement.
"The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Huard were found in the residence uninjured. The investigation so far indicates that this was not a random act of violence."
“I would like to reiterate my deepest condolences and sympathies to the Huard family, including any friends and family and especially the three children left during this most difficult time,” Chief Benson added.
