Purdue has added another prospect to its 2023 recruiting class. This time, it’s a second wide receiver prospect for the cycle.

The player is Ryne Shackelford, a 6-feet and 175 lb. receiver out of Lagrange, Ohio. Shackelford has generated offers from Kentucky, West Virginia and Toledo, among others before committing to Jeff Brohm and Purdue on Monday.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Shackelford is a 3-star prospect and the No. 137 WR nationally for the class of 2023. He joins TJ McWilliams out of Indiana as receivers currently pledged to the Boilermakers for the cycle.

Purdue’s recruiting class is now up to 12 commitments entering the final week of June and is ranked 25th nationally for the 2023 cycle. That is a stark improvement after the Boilermakers turned in the No. 47 recruiting class nationally for 2022.
