EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Residents with illegal fireworks can turn them in without fear of citation on Illegal Fireworks Amnesty Turn-in Day.
Illegal fireworks include but are not limited to, fire crackers, bottle rockets and roman candles. More information can be found on the Oregon State Fire Marshal's website.
From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 at two locations:
- Eugene, 1705 W. 2nd Avenue (Emergency Services Training Center)
- Springfield, 1225 28th Street (Eugene Springfield Fire Station 3)
Eugene Police say the event is only open to private individuals, not commercial parties. Do not take fireworks to a police or fire station.
All fireworks are banned in the south hills, south from 18th Avenue and east of Agate Street through 2022. A temporary ban in that area was put in place by the Eugene City Council in 2021. The ban includes legal fireworks.
Outside of the banned area, fireworks are allowed in Eugene city limits July 3 and 4, December 31 and January 1.
