ASUN Announces 2022-23 Men's Basketball Conference Schedule

2022-23 Conference Schedule

ATLANTA, Ga. –
EKU will play 18 ASUN Conference games during the 2022-23 season.
 
The ASUN portion of the schedule includes at least one game against each of the other 13 conference programs.  EKU will play five teams twice – Bellarmine, Kennesaw State, Queens, Liberty and Central Arkansas.
 
The Colonels will begin the conference slate at home on Dec. 31 against ASUN newcomer Queens University of Charlotte.  Two days later, EKU will play at Kennesaw State on Jan. 2.  The second week of league play includes a game at Central Arkansas on Jan. 5 before returning home to play host to Liberty on Jan. 8.
 
Eastern Kentucky concludes a three-game home stand with tilts against Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson on Jan. 12 and Jan. 14. 
 
Three straight contests on the road at Lipscomb, ASUN newcomer Austin Peay and Bellarmine are set for Jan. 19, Jan. 21 and Jan. 26.
 
EKU returns to McBrayer Arena on Jan. 28 to host Bellarmine before playing home games against Jacksonville State on Feb. 2 and Kennesaw State on Feb. 4. 
 
A swing through North Carolina and Virginia to face Queens and Liberty awaits the Colonels on Feb. 9 and Feb. 11.  The final home games of the regular season will be against Central Arkansas on Feb. 16 and North Alabama on Feb. 18.
 
The ASUN regular season schedule concludes for Eastern Kentucky with a road trip to Florida to face North Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 22 and Jacksonville on Friday, Feb. 24.
 
The ASUN Conference Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 27, Feb. 28, March 2 and March 5.
 
A.W. Hamilton's Colonels have now broken 29 program records.  During the 2021-22 season EKU broke program records for 3-pointers made and attempted in a game, and 3-pointers made and attempted in a season.  For the second straight season, Eastern Kentucky led its conference in scoring, averaging 79 points per game.  The Colonels were the 16th highest scoring team in the nation.  EKU also ranked second in the country in turnover margin, third in 3-pointers per game, fourth in steals per game and seventh in turnovers forced.
 
The 2022 EKU recruiting class was ranked as high as 65th in the country by 247Sports and includes the program's first-ever ESPN four-star freshman recruit, a former four-star high school prospect, a three-star point guard, a three-star center, a junior college All-American, Kentucky's Mr. Basketball and the 35th ranked JUCO player in the nation.
