SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES ARCHITECTURE FIRM / ASST. PRINCIPAL

The Brenham School Board approved three architectural firms as a pool for all future projects undertaken by BISD at this mornings (Monday) meeting.  Additionally, they approved PBK Architecture to provide pre-bond services to the district.  Last week, the board heard presentations from PBK, Plan North, and Huckabee Architecture. The district will select one of the three firms who’s skill set best qualifies them for the project that needs an architect.  Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin emphasized that the naming of all three firms does not cost the district any money, that money only comes into play when they enter into a contract for services.

In other action, the board approved the hiring of Ted Ferretti as the new Assistant Principal for Brenham Middle School.  Mr. Ferretti was most recently serving as the Assistant Principal at the Splendora ISD Junior High School.  Ferretti has 22 years of education experience and a Master's in Administration.

Mr. Ferretti will be relocating to Brenham with his wife Stacy Ferretti, a Brenham Alumni, and their two daughters Macie and Maddie. Macie will be attending school at Brenham Junior High School, and Maddie will be attending Brenham High School.

Additionally, the board approved the promotion of Steven Siemsglusz to Brenham Elementary School Principal.  The school district had announced the promotion last week, but put it on this agenda to make it official.

  1. If and when they try for another bond: are we going to have a set of drawings and have an ideal of what the school will look like. In the past when they have asked for a bond, they had plans and drawings for the schools.

NOT just give us, $119,000,000 and we will use it how they see fit!!

The bond failed for more reasons than not having a set of plans; poor school leadership, all the additional wishlists, out of control inflation, raising property value and taxes!!
