Broome County residents enrolled in political parties will be voting for candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and other offices in Tuesday's primary elections.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. across New York state.

Three Democrats are running for the party's nomination for governor. They are Governor Kathy Hochul, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Congressman Tom Suozzi.

Four Republicans are running for the party's nomination for governor. They are Congressman Lee Zeldin, former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, businessman Harry Wilson and Andrew Giuliani.

There is a Republican primary in the 123rd state Assembly district, which includes the city of Binghamton along with the towns of Union and Vestal. Binghamton residents Robin Alpaugh and Sophia Resciniti are facing each other for the party's nomination. The winner will face Democrat Donna Lupardo of Endwell in the November general election. Lupardo was first elected to the Assembly in 2004.

Early primary voting began June 18. The final day for early voting was Sunday.

According to the Broome County Board of Elections, poll sites have been consolidated for Primary Day. The move was made as a result of court-ordered state redistricting leading to two summer primary elections. Primary voting for governor and local offices will take place Tuesday. The congressional and New York State Senate primary voting will take place on August 23.
