Maxwell faces decades in prison

Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell said she has been placed on suicide watch as she faces sentencing Tuesday.Maxwell, 60, is currently being held at a jail in Brooklyn, New York. Officials with the U.S. Attorney's Office said Maxwell and her legal team refused to answer questions from the prison's psychology staff so she was removed from the general population. She was convicted in December on multiple counts, including sex trafficking. She faces up to 65 years in prison. Prosecutors recommended a sentence of 30 to 55 years, while her lawyers have pleaded for leniency.She was arrested in Bradford, New Hampshire, in July 2020.
