The MEGA Brain visits Doylestown and here is your chance to walk through it

Posted

Stop by the Doylestown branch of the Bucks County Free Library and you’ll be treated to the MEGA Brain exhibit and invited to take a tour of the striking inflatable structure.

Standing 12 feet high, the giant brain will be on hand June 30, from 10 a.m. to noon for families to walk through and learn about some of the human brain’s fascinating mysteries. The MEGA Brain is on loan from the DaVinci Science Center, an Allentown-based national award-winning nonprofit, as part of a “Use Your Brain Science Celebration.”

Visitors can enter through the frontal lobe where they’ll discover the parts of the brain responsible for personality and higher cognitive functions. As people move through, they’ll see the cerebellum, which controls balance and coordination.

Designed as an educational experience for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, there will be information on strokes, addiction and other aspects of brain function, as well as facts on brain health and the latest medical treatments for brain trauma and disease, according to the science center.

After walking through the MEGA Brain, children can enjoy puzzles, games and experiments that explore the complexities of the human nervous system. A dissected sheep brain and a real human brain will also be on hand.

The free Summer Quest event is open to all. No registration is required. The library is located at 150 S. Pine St.
