Kura Sushi USA, an Irvine, California based Japanese restaurant that features a revolving sushi service, has announced delivery robots, self checkout and self-order beverage ordering, according to a press release. The technology will be introduced to all the company's 37 restaurants.
Once the waitstaff receives a notification about a party's order, they place the beverages, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger on the Kur-B robot and program it to deliver to the corresponding table. Guests may check out on their mobile phones and place drink orders directly on the tablet.
Guests previously gave their drink orders to servers and used a tablet to place their food orders for delivery on an Express Belt, purchase Bikkura Pon prizes, call for assistance and check out.
"We are continually looking for new developments to enrich the guest experience and are elated to be able to bring these new elements to our eater-tainment restaurants," Hideto Sugimoto, director of system and menu development at Kura Sushi USA, said in the press release.
