Weekend Accident Leaves Mound City Man With Serious Injuries

A mid-day accident Saturday left a Mound City man with serious injuries.
Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Mound City resident Joseph L. Rhoades was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson southbound on Atchison County Route O at noon Saturday when his motorcycle traveled into the northbound lane of Route O and struck a 2007 Chevy Silverado.
Rhoades was ejected from the motorcycle. He was reportedly not wearing a safety device and suffered serious injuries. He was taken from the scene by Life-Net helicopter and transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.
