Traffic Advisory: Riverbound Lanes Closed at the 200 North Carrollton Ave. (Iberville Street to Bienville Street)

NEW ORLEANS — On June 23, 2022 the City of New Orleans contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC closed two lanes in the riverbound direction of N. Carrolton Avenue to accommodate the installation of a water line as a part of the Mid-City Group B reconstruction project.

Lane closures and detour signs will remain in place throughout this phase of construction; the lane closures are scheduled to reopen by close of business July 1, 2022.

Street parking is impacted, and residents and visitors must adhere to any “No Parking” signs on the streets to avoid being ticketed and towed. Businesses in the area have been notified, and accommodations will be made to ensure access for their customers.

The $24.4 million Mid-City Group B reconstruction project calls for removing and replacing existing water and drainage lines, repairing the sewer line, repaving roadways in asphalt or concrete, replacing damaged sidewalk and driveway aprons, and installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections. All work on this project is anticipated to be complete by fall 2023.

The City of New Orleans hosted community meeting in February 2021 to discuss anticipated impacts to the community, and a copy of the presentation can be viewed here. In addition, RoadworkNOLA will continue to work with community leaders and stakeholders through the duration of the project.
