State Sen. Boscola’s vote on carbon tax will help usher in higher energy prices in Pa. | Letter

When will energy prices go down? With everything getting so expensive, many of us have had to sacrifice and we are reaching our limits. Electricity rates skyrocketing and we need to make critical decisions on turning on the air conditioning or filling our gas tank.

We can forget receiving any help from our state senator any time soon. Sen, Lisa Boscola cast the deciding vote to support the RGGI carbon tax a few months ago. This tax will lead to energy price increases that will further cripple middle class people in our region. Has she forgotten that she doesn’t represent people in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh? But small towns like Nazareth, the Slate Belt, Hellertown and Tatamy?

Sen. Boscola should have done what was right for her district and voted down the creation of a carbon tax. Instead, she stood with Gov. Wolf and President Biden with their “green new deal” agenda. Now, we as the consumer will pay the price.

After 30 years of “representing us,” Boscola has lost touch with her community. We need a new voice in Harrisburg. She had a chance to save us from high electric bills this summer and she sided with the Green New Deal instead.

We all should consider how her policy support is impacting our family and our lives. I know I am not voting to re-elect Boscola in November.
