CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- A woman was found deceased at a home in Cordele on Sunday.
According to Cordele police, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East 11th Avenue about an unresponsive person just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a dead woman in the backyard of a home. The victim was identified as 60-year-old Johnnie Walker, who was also known as "Red."
Cordele police subsequently asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for assistance with the death investigation.
The GBI said the circumstances of Walker's death are uncertain at this time, but she was last seen walking around the intersection of East 16th Avenue and South 5th St. around 9 p.m. Saturday, June 25.
The GBI's Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy.
