Bee Jays Sweep Colorado Springs

The Liberal Bee Jays are 10-1 and in first place in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League after a 16-5 win over the Colorado Springs Outlaws Sunday night at Brent Gould Field.  The Bee Jays sweep the three game series with Colorado Springs by a combined score of 53-15.

The BJ’s scored 19 first inning runs in the three game series after plating six in the first on Sunday night.  The Outlaws scored a first inning run.  Gavin Brzozowski and Keaton Grady walked to begin the first.  Caden Hensley singled home a run.  Zach Yorke singled home a run.  Tyce Armstrong was hit by a pit and Jack Arthur was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.  Gavin Brzozowski singled home a run.  Liberal scored six runs on three hits and two errors.  The BJ’s scored three in the fourth.  Jordan Thompson reached on an error.  Gavin Brzozowski doubled.  Caden Hensley singled home a run.  Zach Yorke singled and Tyce Armstrong doubled home a run with a drive off the wall in center.  Colorado Springs chased home a run in the fifth to make it 9-2.  Liberal scored five in the fifth.  Ethan Frey hit a towering double to left.  Jordan Thompson reached on an error.  Gavin Brzozowski hit a sac fly.  Cooper Hext singled home a run after a Keaton Grady walk.  Liberal scored five runs on two hits and five errors.  Liberal scored two in the sixth on one hit and one error.  Gavin Brzozowski had the hit.  Keaton Grady drove home a run with a ground out.

Caden Hensley was 2-3 and went 9-10 for the series.  Gavin Brzozowski was 3-3 and 9-12 in the series.  Zach Yorke was 2-3.  Dylan Kerbow pitched three innings with six strikeouts and allowed one run.  Jackson Berry went two innings with four K’s and allowed one run.  Brady LeJeune-DeAcutis pitched a scoreless seventh.

The hits were even at nine a piece.  Colorado Springs committed nine errors.  Liberal is 12-4 overall and 10-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  Colorado Springs is 7-10 overall and 5-9 in the RMBL.  Liberal hosts Dodge City for a non league game Wednesday night at 7pm with pre-game at 6:45 on 1270, 92.3, and The KSCB and The Legend App.  Dr. Dora Finney is the buyout sponsor.
