If any one team in the NBA most badly needs a playoff appearance in 2022-23, it’s the Sacramento Kings. After all, they haven’t been to the postseason in 16 years.
That’s the longest drought in the league. In fact, it isn’t even particularly close. When the Kings moved sophomore Tyrese Haliburton for Domantas Sabonis at this year’s trade deadline, they made one thing clear:
They don’t want to make it 17.
By that logic, this team should hold onto Harrison Barnes. Unless, of course, his contract can be used in a trade for an even more impactful player. Barnes is great: he’s a two-way forward who spaces the floor and can create his own shot when need be.
