RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina GOP headquarters in Raleigh was vandalized last week following a controversial overruling of Roe v. Wade.

Threatening graffiti was still visible on Monday morning, although a person appeared to be there with the intention of washing the graffiti away.

The message read “1312 GET READY IF ABORTION ISNT SAFE NEITHER R YOU”

An NCGOP representative released a statement, clarifying that the vandalism occurred on Friday night. On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the Roe v. Wade decision after being upheld for several decades, causing protests and demonstrations throughout the country in support of the constitutional right to an abortion.

"On the night of June 24, North Carolina Republican Party offices in Raleigh were vandalized with threats of violence following the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade," the statement read. "This act was followed by numerous threats over the weekend."

The statement went on to say the act was "unfortunate" and "unacceptable."
