Neillsville & Marshfield Compete At WIAA/WBCA June-Jam -Scholastic Event

The WIAA/WBCA June-Jam -Scholastic Event was held at the Community First Champion Center in Appleton this past weekend.

The Champion Center is the largest sports facility in the state with 8 beautiful hardwood courts all under one roof.  72 varsity boys basketball teams from around the state competed in the two day event.  NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 coaches as well as NAIA and NJCAA coaches were in attendance to scout the young talent. 

The Neillsville boys basketball team competed in the June Jam, losing their first game on Saturday in overtime to Manawa 48-46, then falling to Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs 95-50.  On Sunday the Warriors were edged by The Prairie School 69-66 and then beat Merrill 72-63. 

The Marshfield boys were also there.  On Saturday they lost to Fort Atkinson 51-45 and to DePere 75-43.  On Sunday, the Tigers were beaten by Milwaukee Hamilton 74-59 in the first game and then beat Menasha 60-49 in their second game.

The Neillsville boys will be participating in the 32 Team WisSports.net All-State Summer Shootout slated for July 24th in Beaver Dam.
