(Willmar MN-) The City of Willmar is talking about how best to us American Rescue Plan dollars given to them by the federal government. City Administrator Leslie Valiant says the city was given 2.1 million, which has to be designated for various projects by 2024, and actually spent on those projects by 2026 or else it goes back to the federal government...
...Valiant says the city has decided to spent about 264,000 dollars from the ARPA fund on design and construction of a new water line to the Epitopix production facility west of town. And Valiant says at a work session earlier this month and again at last week's city council meeting they included other priorities...
...The federal government allowed cities to list up to 10 million dollars in lost revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Valiant says Willmar is listing 2 million.
