One arrested after crash leads to house fire

COLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. —
A home was fully engulfed in flames early Monday morning after a car crashed into it.

The St. Joseph Count Sheriff's Office responded to a crash with entrapment in the area of Burr Oak Road and West Palmer Lake Road in Colon Township.

After investigating, deputies believe the driver hit a gas line, causing the fire, after going off the road and hitting the home.
The home was unoccupied at the time and was deemed a total loss, according to Colon Community Fire and Rescue.
The driver was able to escape the vehicle.
A 25-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office for the crash.
