A 23-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday after being thrown 28 feet from his bike over a cement wall in Fairfax County, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities said Braydon Stone, 23, of Alexandria, Va., was found by police lying in the westbound travel lane on I-495 near Telegraph Road in Alexandria at 2:50 p.m.
An investigation revealed Stone was riding a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 400 on I-495 westbound in the thru lanes before he took the exit for Eisenhower Avenue toward Mill Road.
While on the overpass exit ramp, Stone ran off the left side of the lane and hit a cement wall, police said. The impact of the crash caused him to be thrown from his bike and over a cement wall.
Stone landed approximately 28 feet below in the travel lane, authorities said.
He was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he died, according to a release. He was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
